“Nothing changes on New Years Day”
-New Years Day, U2

Happy New Year! Okay, I know I’m a little behind here, with the greeting and the song of the day, but, I’ve been busy and am feeling a little slow. And I’m also a little mad that I didn’t hear my U2 New Year’s Day song on New Years Day. First time in years. Everyone knows that New Years Day is to be played January 1st, Pride (In the Name of Love) gets played April 4th, and the month of October is for the album October. Duh.

“All is quiet on New Year's Day, A world in white gets underway”

So it’s a new year and I feel like I’m still in the same predicament I was in last year. Meaning that I’m still debating the same old things and still stuck on the same ideas. Then again, reliving 2005 isn’t so bad. 2005 is going down as Best. Year. Ever. We’ll see how 2006 compares next year at this time. Could be fun.

I’m still sorting through Christmas stuff and trying to decide what CDs to listen to first and what books I should read first. I think I’ll just close my eyes and pick out of the pile. I don’t know when I’ll actually have time to read anything, what with the stack of magazines that I have also been piling up- like that Rolling Stone with Bono on the cover for months ago which I still haven’t read, and the Time magazine, as well as some that featured end of the year lists, Cillian Murphy, or both. And then there’s my Entertainment Weekly subscription. When will the insanity end?

“Maybe the time is right, Oh...maybe tonight...”

I also refuse to make New Years resolutions. Unless it’s a resolution not to make resolutions. It’s not that I’m not good at setting and achieving goals (see my September blogs from the film festival and my successful goals of seeing the Sars and Bono), but it’s that I’d rather not make any, unless it’s to see more concerts, movies, buy more CDs, and read more books. Be more productive. Perhaps I will try to be nice this year……nah.

And, as we all know, Eve has returned from Japan for a week and we were lucky enough to spend some time together dancing up a storm at Dance Cave on Friday. Where there was lots of danicng and drinking to be had. Although I must say, I wasn't that drunk (unlike last tiem we were at LP). I'm saving up my alcoholism for next weekend witht eh arrival of Mairin.

Here are some pictures:

“Under a blood red sky…”

OVERRATED: New Years Resolutions
UNDERRATED: Not working out at the gym and subsisting on jelly beans (or rather Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans a la Harry Potter where I pick out the vomit and dirt flavoured ones and feed them to Eve)

“I will begin again”
